"Dear Keith and Laura: Congratulations! It is with great pleasure that we invite you to begin training in Ukraine for Peace Corps service."

For the past couple of months, our lives have revolved very much around the above sentence. We've been updating resumes, purchasing warm clothing, reading about TEFL instruction, and trying desperately to learn the language. Mostly, however, we've tried to dedicate our time to family and friends alike. It's been wonderful to spend quality time with everyone and hopefully the next month will bring more of the same.

Currently, our staging is set for September 25th and departure to Ukraine September 27th. This may change in the next couple of weeks (when tickets are purchased), but for now we're holding them true. Once in Ukraine we will have approximately 12 weeks of training in a site near Kiev before setting out to our placement site were we will be working as Secondary Education TEFL Teachers.

We've created this blog with the hope that it'll be a way to share our experience with all who wish to hear it. We are unaware of how much internet access we will have at our site but we'll do our best to post regularly.
